The laptop that I am using for the last two years is about to fall apart. It is (was?) a nice laptop with windows xp installed when it came. Everyone who is using vista seemed to have lots of problems then, so I sticked with the xp. Now that the end is near for my old toshiba, I am facing a hard choice - get a new pc lap top or make a radical change and go for the new 13" macbook. Eventhough the macs seem a bit more pricey when compared to their pc counterparts spec for spec, we all know they perform far better than the numbers suggest on paper. The challenge will be adjusting to a new os after using microsoft os's for ages. For the time being, going for the mac looks the better choice. I'll let you know when I make up my mind...
